Sound Check
Behind The Scenes
Fan Engagement
When it comes to getting in front of your fans and making them feel valued, a behind the scenes special access video to your show’s sound check is the next best thing to backstage access.
Being witness to your individual personalities, and all the last minute inevitabilities between the band, production managers, and the venue, is an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your fans with authenticity and candidness.
Description
It’s an intrusive, yet intimate, real-time behind the scenes experience of your sound check in a reality tv style format, starring crew, artists, and production management staff.

Fans love behind the scenes special access
How long is it?
As long as the sound check takes.
It begins with cross-talk between all the key players - stage manager, FOH and monitor engineers, possibly the LD, the artist/band and production management staff.
The cross-talk intro is edited for production value purposes, the rest of the video takes place all in real-time.
How many cameras are used?
Between six and twelve cameras are used.
Cameras being used to film the show, will be in their pre-determined locations. And a roaming shoulder mounted camera will follow the action wherever it takes place, on or off stage.
Two cameras are placed at Front Of House. One camera is an over the shoulder view of the engineer, with the stage in background, and the other camera provides a view of the engineer working at the console.
A third camera is placed at the monitor mix location, with a view of the monitor engineer at the console.
What about audio?
Audio is captured from multiple locations, in-fact the audio is really the more exciting part of the video.
A wireless lapel mic is placed on the main artist, and captures everything starting in the green room. We use a shotgun mic on stage, to capture the band talking to each other or the sound engineers, during the sound check.
Arrangements are made in advance to patch into the engineer's talkback mics at FOH and the monitor desk. If there is ClearCom being used for lighting or production, we grab a feed from them is well, so the viewer get's to experience it all.
What style of editing is the video?
It’s a cross between reality show behind the scenes coverage and big brother security cameras - because there's literally a microphone and camera wherever you turn.
